Ilhan Oztekin

Ilhan Oztekin is the current president of Istanbul Medical Acupuncture and Complementary Medicine Association, the oldest organization of physicians practicing acupuncture in Turkey. He graduated from medical school at Istanbul University in 1985 and competed residency training in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He is still work as a Professor in Yeditepe University Medical Faculty, Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, Istanbul. He began studying acupuncture theory and practice in 1991 and studied with Prof.Dr. Johanesse Bischko of Ludwig Boltzmann Acupuncture Institute, Vienna, Austria for taking an Diploma of Acupuncture in 1994 and four years with Prof.Dr.Abdulkadir Erengul in Istanbul Medical Acupuncture Association. He was a member of Acupuncture Scientific Committee of Turkish Health Ministry during 2010-2013 and is a teacher and chairperson of Turkish Health Ministry Acupuncture Courses in several Universities since 2007. He was President of 9th.Turkish Medical Acupuncture Congress in 2016. He is interested in Spinal Pain interventional therapies and acupuncture practice and also in the fostering of meaningful dialog with our colleagues in regular medicine about acupuncture’s value in modern medical practice.
